Obsessed with making art!

It started with a desire to create a series of art quilts, and it’s turned into a passion to create with watercolor, colored pencil, graphite, Sculpey, fabric and other mediums.  I decided to challenge myself to make something every day in 2015.  I own a small business and winter is my busy season, so there may be days when a small sketch of my cat’s eye is all I have time to do.  It doesn’t matter what I make, it only matters that I do it.  I don’t call myself an artist, but maybe by the end of 2015, that will change.

Along with giving myself this daily nudge, I would love to inspire others to join me.  Won’t it be cool to look back at the end of the year to see what we’ve managed to create?  I’m looking forward to the journey.  I would love to link up with others who have a similar goal.  Let’s fly!

  1. It’s interesting how many of us don’t think of ourselves as professional artists but mostly as someone who dabbles. The person who hesitates saying they’re an artist because they question whether the quality of their work is high enough, well, that person is an artist in my opinion. Trying to improve, to understand the media and thinking about what we’re saying with our work are all signs of deeper thought invested by artists. 🙂 Keep up the great work!

      1. I’m always happy to offer some camaraderie to another person on the journey of artistic self-discovery. As individuals, we can accomplish considerable amounts. And when we share ideas together, our potential grows even more. I believe 2015 will be a wonderful year for learning considering the attitudes people like you and I have towards learning. 🙂

        1. I think this is what blogging is teaching me: Look how much better we are as a collective. There’s nothing we can’t do. So much talent here, it’s mind-blowing. It’s really nice to feel like a part of something so much bigger.
