I caught a few minutes of zen Monday evening with this miniature watercolor landscape. And I guess I was a bit preoccupied with the letter Z while painting.  🙂

Speaking of Zzzzz’s, I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who sometimes struggles with getting enough good, quality sleep. Do I have any sisters & brothers out there? Maybe I just need a secret recipe that’ll tempt Mr. Sandman into sticking around at 4:30am instead of bugging out and leaving me groggy. Alas, I’m no kitchenista sista. hehe.

Well, a new alphabet cycle starts tomorrow, and my mind is whirling with new ideas……I hope everyone has a great start to the short work week. Thanks, as always, for your visits and comments!

  1. Yes my daughter and I were looking at survey results where a majority of people claimed to get 7 or more hours of sleep a night. Seriously? we asked. In our dreams…(ok I couldn’t resist)
Looking forward to a new A-Z.

    1. Maybe if they’re mostly teenagers. I slept great until premeno started (which for me was about 36). After that…..not so great. Except when I’m meditating and doing yoga regularly. Then it’s better. But if it’s either art or meditation, I pick art every time.

  2. The mornings always come much too early!!! I went through a phase of that, but it passed. I think all part of this lovely meno time of life. Grr. But your little painting is sweet and calming. Makes me want to go back to zleep!!

  3. Laura, Good morning (way to early) I was up at 4:45 this morning. 😌 I certainly could use more sleep. So I’m up enjoying your post, having a cup of coffee and drawing my post for tonight!
    Beautiful and serene drawing today.

  4. Ahh, a lovely zen sunset! I usually have trouble falling asleep but not staying asleep, although last night, I kept waking up for no reason. Now I’m exhausted. :} Maybe chamomile tea might help at 4:30am?

  5. The cat woke me up at 4 am! Ugh, then I lie there wide awake for an hour. So I hear you about the lack of sleep. Not sure what to do about the darn cat! Lovely painting! It looks very restful. 😊

    1. Thanks, Jill! We’ve been known to put Penny and her food and water in the lower level (not the basement) and close the door to upstairs, depending upon how sleep deprived I am. It helps a lot, not that it happens often.

      1. We need to get a cat door so we don’t have to get up every half hour and let the cat in and out. Maybe we will have to put him in the basement and shut the door. He is a very loving cat but very busy in the early morning hours… I appreciate your suggestions.
