Take Me Away

Remember those old Calgon commercials? Yeah, that’s kinda how I felt when I painted this abstract landscape last week in my art journal. And it worked; I was transported to the scene in my mind.

Are we supposed to feel transported by our own work? Not sure. Do you feel transported? hehe. I used masking in this one, a technique I don’t usually use, but I think it’s interesting in abstract work.   Brought to you by colored pencils, watercolor paint, bit of acrylics, time and water.  I’m actually not sure if there was anything else; it’s been a week since I painted this.   🙂

Hope you enjoy. I’m wishing you a peaceful end of August! All hail, fall foliage! Peace.

  1. There’s an old saying that says “The glory of God is man fully alive”…so, I don’t know if I feel transported, but I feel filled with joy when I do what I feel like I was created to do. I feel like God smiles. 🙂

  2. It’s wonderfully peaceful to me! Could you explain how you did your masking technique? I love how you painted your sky and the water looks amazing! The colors and your layers make me want to look deeper. (((((Laura))))) 😊🎨🌈
