Quick Roses

Just another quick one from my art journal. We had a couple of new little buds, one each on the red and pink bushes. So I decided to sketch them both in ink and go back in with my Cotman watercolor travel palette.

The other rose was my warm-up in Inktense pencil with a bit of watercolor paint added later. That ink definition adds so much!

Happy Thursday to all…..Anyone else looking forward to some fall-like temps?Β Β  Can’t wait. Peace.

  2. Here itΒ΄s quite cold already, such a relieve!!! Love you inky roses, especially that both, ink and watercolor, look so light-handed and sketchy. That can only be reached with a lot of practice! Wonderful!!! πŸŒΉπŸ’•πŸ‘

    1. Awww thanks, Ann! I did promise myself better florals by end of summer! hehe I’m so glad you see the improvement. I have done lots of them now, mostly from what my husband grows. I guess I should have a fall goal! I think maybe it’ll be animals. I’d love to be able to do furry animals well. In ink and wc. A challenge, for sure. Do you have a fall goal? I’m glad it’s getting cool there!

      1. My main goals are getting better at painting water, shadowing in trees, and drapery. All incredibly hard to me… Started with a little with water now… But actually my fall goal is preparing stuff for christmas (like little illustrations for christmas cards), maybe IΒ΄ll be able to sell some of it, who knows. That would be so cool! 😊 Love fall, canΒ΄t wait to see the leaves turn yellow!!! πŸπŸ‚πŸƒπŸ„πŸŒ°
