Fabric painting fun!

I really appreciated everyone’s feedback and help with my fabric painting experiment from the other day.   I took Sharon’s advice and painted fabric in different color families yesterday; here is one of them.   This was done solely with watercolor paint on plain muslin fabric.

Hoping to get a small quilt together today that will be comprised primarily of fabric I painted myself…..wish me luck! Happy September Sunday to you. Peace.

  1. What will happen if you wash it!? Or do you not wash quilts? Are they for wall hanging rather than warming yourself under? I never realised that I don’t really know much about quilts…

    1. It depends on the pigment, apparently. Some are more permanent than others. They can be treated with textile medium to make them all permanent on fabric, according to a site I found which I will link to hopefully on my next post, if I remember. Art quilts IMO aren’t meant to be washed, though. They’re strictly for the wall.

I'd love to hear from you! Constructive criticism is most appreciated. Thank you!
