Exciting News!

I was surprised and excited to receive an email from a company called VIDA yesterday. They are interested in working with me to translate my artwork into fashion! They work with artists from all over the world, bringing producers, designers and consumers together.

I’m sharing a link to their site, in case any of you might be interested in shopping with them or contributing your images as well. Since this is my busy time in the office, I will likely not be acting on this immediately, but I’ll definitely be keeping you posted. I was very flattered by their interest, as their site and business model look dynamite! Wish me luck!

Here is their link: http://shopvida.com/

I hope everyone is enjoying some wonderful springlike weather! We’re drinking it up around here. Peace.

        1. Thanks so much, Rebecca. You’re very kind. I can always think of oodles of people (including you) who are so much better than me……I’d love to know what they saw here that they really liked so much & thought would translate to high-end apparel. It’s not something I’ve ever contemplated making art for, honestly. But I’m so flattered, I just … .flabbergasted I guess is the word. Thanks for your encouragement and constant support and boosts. It’s much appreciated.

  2. That is so awesome!! I’m so happy for you Laura! I wish you good luck as you go about this new stage in your life! They look like a great company, and if they’re coming to YOU for your art, then that’s pretty impressive!! πŸ˜€

  3. How thrilling! I do think they made a good choice wanting your work for textiles. I think many of your abstracts would make lovely fabric.

I love so many of the tops! Mostly the sleeveless and my upper arms are icky! On a windy day I could fly icky. That’s probably why the 3/4 sleeve dresses are all sold out! πŸ™‚

Keep us posted and when your top or dress is for sale I want to know!

    1. Deborah, you are too kind, my friend! They work with photographers too, so who knows what may be showing up on the next dress or scarf! You’re a gifted artist yourself! May be something to look into. Thanks so much for your support. Truly appreciated. ❀

    1. ooh I’d not thought of that one. Thank you! :))) I would really love to know what they saw here (because I have no other artistic presence) that led them to email me. What specifically drew them in? Would be a good thing to know. Not sure if it’s possible tho. That peacock is a goodie, thanks for the suggestion.

    1. Aw, Snehal, thanks so much for saying this. I can think of oodles of artists here and elsewhere who are so much better (haha including you) but I am very flattered that they saw something here that they think would look great on clothing. That is a very cool thing to know. Thanks for your support. ❀

  4. How very exciting! I’ve had a gander at the site and I can see your abstract works fitting in very well with their items – you’ll be in your element, I’ve no doubt. So chuffed for you!

        1. ((((((((((Susan)))))))))))) Thank you for understanding. I feel a little wacky right now lol. I should be doing tax returns and all I can think of is art. And I do love my “day job” too! So that is really saying something. Thanks so much for your support. I really appreciate it! I can’t wait to be able to paint in acrylics the way you can! :)))) (maybe someday…)

    1. Debi, anytime I can make you smile, that day has been a success. I can’t tell you how many times your encouragement has been the boost I needed in any given day. You’re so kind and generous with your thoughtful comments and analysis and I sooo appreciate it. You have no idea! I wish I could send you a painting, but maybe someday when I can actually call myself a painter lol! Thanks again, friend!

    1. Thanks so much, Ann! I still can’t quite believe it. I’m hoping it was the abstract, eye-like circles that drew them here, because that’s still my favorite of everything I’ve done and I actually do think that might make a cute scarf or print on something. Never thought of translating my art to anything resembling high fashion before and I have no idea if they’ll accept anything I upload them anyhow but it was nice to get the email (and actually very shocking)! I appreciate your friendship and support. πŸ’œ
