Flowery Friday! (May Madness Day 13)

I am head over heels in love with yellows and mauves and violets. Just having fun, playing with color. This painting every day thing is kind of addictive, and I may continue through June! Who’s with me?   This was done in acrylic on 4 x 6″ stretched and wrapped cotton canvas:

For more daily paintings, check out my friends’ blogs: Margaret Parker Brown and Debi Riley are painting daily this month too, and having a good time.   Stephen J. Quirke is painting every day in 2016 as well, and  Charlie at Doodlewash has been painting daily (I believe) for as long as he’s been blogging, which is getting close to a year now, I think!   These people are all talented artists and worth checking out!  If you’re looking for fun, you’ve come to the right corner of WordPress!

This weekend, I’ll post a roundup of all of the wonderful bird art that we all posted for the May issue of Draw a Bird Day….and stay tuned for a mysterious secret about the painting of the oranges (the Doodlewash dinner!) that posted on Monday.   Bonus points if you guess!    Peace and Happy Friday to all!

  1. There is nothing but JOY in this piece! Beautiful Laura… and your poppy colors are making my mornings so delightful! 😍😍Thanks for sharing. And thanks so much for the shout out, sis! Yep… I’m been doing at least one daily (I actually started with two a day early on…I’m insane) since I started. It will be a year in July! And I have something exciting coming to celebrate! 😉

    1. That’s a bummer Jill but maybe another month will work. Can’t do Feb thru Apr tho and the holidays are prob not good but maybe we can do it again later this year. It is fun to paint daily in acrylic. WC is more of a challenge lol. Glad you like these colors too!

    1. Thanks so much, Margaret! I’m very excited to be your painting pal, and thinking about extending through June – and maybe weaving in more wc this next go-round. I hope we can remain as we are, encouraging each other as we go. I’m really enjoying it. Learning so much from you, Debi, Stephen, Charlie, well I learn a lot from all of you but it’s nice when a little group is painting daily, especially.

          1. I am going to come up with a plan, not sure yet but it will be art everyday in some way. Also I journal about my art but I’m thinking of getting a journal just for these challenges. My blog here is a journal for sure but another one about the struggles and whatnot. So, we’ll see!
