Sharing Some Love (World Watercolor Month, 26/31)

I feel the need to share some love today. I think if two colors as different as red and blue can come together effortlessly and make purple, then the world can come together in love and unity, and drive out hate and division.

As an artist, I see my role as a recycler: taking negative events, emotions, etc. and using them as fuel to create a fire inside of myself which allows me to transform it all into a painting or a sketch that can touch someone’s heart, bring them a smile, or a peaceful moment.

We are all creators. We all have this ability. Some turn out a beautiful story or verse; some produce a lovely photograph; some grow flowers; some, a meal; some make music; and still others make a child feel comforted and loved. We are all recyclers. We have work to do, but we are up to the challenge. Peace.

        1. I have no words to describe him or my feelings about him. And the polls. I’m sick at my own country right now, honestly. Just mad at how stupid we have become. Honestly, I’m no fan of hers either, but at least she is intelligent and has many years of relevant experience. I’m really just beyond myself right now.

  1. Such great artist wisdom. Indeed we are on the same wavelength today 😍. Beautiful hearts Your real one and these paintings. Do I detect a drop or two of our fave quin gold that makes everything magic?! 😝

    1. Jodi, I just painted this last night and even still I can’t say I remember for sure. I don’t think so, I think I put some Winsor orange in to the top one and that’s it. With the red and blue, I was trying to stay away from yellow because mud comes all too easily in WC! Glad you enjoyed it. πŸ’›

  2. Thank you Laura for spreading the love, what better way than through sharing your beautiful art and color. I woke up this morning feeling a little lost. Your post today and Jodi’s has set me back on track. I’m going to splash some paint. Thank you my dear friend.

      1. Yay a bunny rabbit, you will get there, it’s all about repetition, I look back at some of my old stuff, which at the time I liked, and think looks very still and block coloured …still lots to improve on, but even this month I have seen things I have bettered on….mainly speed πŸ˜€

  3. My husband and I have turned off our tv…we might watch the weather once a week or so but other than that, I can not tell what is truth, what is lie and I prefer to visit your site and look at pretty hearts. Thank you for posting them.

  4. I was just thinking about this as I went to bed last night, that I want to show peace and whatever else I am suppose to show in my art because lately I am striving to hard to show just me (and failing!)…..not peace and spirituality, etc. Your hearts are wonderful and your words convey exactly what I have been thinking about. ❀

    1. I’m glad, thank you, Margaret. I’m determined to manufacture peace, somehow, someway, because I’ve been way too angsty lately, between the news & political headlines. I think we all have to start with love in everything so that is where I went with my art last night. I’m really glad this one spoke to you too.

        1. That’s right. We’ll do our best to shine more light and be a brilliant contrast against orange men and other tools of the dark. Boy I need to get focusing on what is above, Margaret. Definitely looking forward to my beautiful fall colors and cool cool breezes.

  5. Lovely hearts, Laura! ❀️ It is in the doing that brings me the most joy! Wasn’t Debi Riley saying that we don’t have to produce a masterpiece for it to be considered art? (I know she said it better than I did, lol!). Keep spreading the peace! πŸ˜„πŸŒŸπŸŒˆ

        1. Honestly, Jill, I was just trying to create something peaceful. To bring me peacea, and then spread it around. Just too much unrest, violence, discord in the world today. I’m getting fed up. And looking forward to cool breezes. July isn’t really my friend, lol.
